CHANGES POSSIBLE FOR STATE SEAT BELT LAW

(Albany, NY) — A state seat belt law could be about to change. The Senate is expected to vote this week on a bill requiring adults to wear seat belts while sitting in the back of a vehicle. Right now, they only have to wear the safety devices if they’re sitting in the front. The proposal was part of Governor Cuomo’s budget, but wasn’t included in the final deal. The Assembly is likely to vote on the bill before the end of this year’s legislative session.
